Based on the famous Greek story about Odysseus and his years journey to return home to his family after the battle of Troy. The film stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, John Leguizamo, Benny Safdie, Himesh Patel, Lupita Nyongo, Elliott Page, and Jon Bernthal. 

I thought The Odyssey was a good movie. I enjoyed it. The cast did a good job. There were some stand out performances. I thought Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway all stood out in their roles. I felt they all played their parts well. Tom Holland was fantastic. He did a really good job as Telemachus, and it was nice to see him in a different kind of role other than Spider-Man. I have only seen him in the Marvel movies as well as in Uncharted. This role was more mature and different. Matt Damon was great as Odysseus. I liked what he did with the character. I also felt this role was a little different for him as well especially compared to his other roles. Anne Hathaway fit the role of Penelope well. She also had good chemistry with Matt Damon and Tom Holland. Robert Pattinson stood out as well as Antinous. It was cool to see him in a different type of role. I have not seen him as an antagonist before. John Leguizamo was another stand out. I have seen him in a few things and know him as the voice of Sid in the Ice Age films. I thought he was great as Eumaeus. I thought the role was different for him as well not to mention he was unrecognizable in it. 

I recently read the book, and I feel the movie does the book justice. It is pretty faithful to the source material. It covers all the key points. There are some changes, but the movie doesn’t stray too far from the story. It was a cool interpretation of a famous story. I did feel the movie was slightly too long at parts. It could have been trimmed a tiny bit. 

The Odyssey is a good and faithful adaption of a well-known story. It has a solid ensemble with multiple stand out performances. It is definitely a movie that should be experienced on the big screen.
