Ranking of the Arrowverse Series Finales

The Flash recently ended. Here is a ranking of all the Arrowverse series finales.

5. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 Episode 13 Knocked Down, Knocked Up

The episode is a solid episode. The reason it ranks last is because it ended on a cliffhanger. The CW chose not to renew DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. There were plans for a season 8. The series ended with the gang being arrested and Booster Gold (Donald Faison) was introduced. Prior to the show getting cancelled, it was announced that Nick Zano would be exiting at the end of season 7. Nate got a happy ending leaving the Legends to be with his Zari (Tala Ashe).

4. Batwoman Season 3 Episode 13 Are We Having Fun Yet?

As a season finale, this was a strong episode. It was action packed. There was a final showdown between Batwoman (Javicia Leslie) and the Joker (Nick Creegan). It also gave Alice (Rachel Skarsten) some redemption. Like Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman was cancelled. The series ended on a cliffhanger. Given Batwoman was only in its third season, there were plans for the show to last for a few more years.

3. Supergirl Season 6 Episodes 19-20 The Last Gauntlet/Kara

Supergirl had a two hour finale and it was a satisfying conclusion to Kara Danvers’ (Melissa Benoist) journey. James Olsen (Mechad Brooks), Winn Shott (Jeremy Jordan), and Mon-El (Chris Wood) returned as did Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart).

2.  The Flash Season 9 Episode 13 A New World Part 4

The Flash had a four part series finale. A New World Part 4 is a good episode. It was able to give a satisfying conclusion. There were some people missing from the finale particularly Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Bart Allen (Jordan Fisher). It was announced that Carlos Valdes was unable to film the finale due to a scheduling conflict. It did not make sense why Bart was not in the episode since his sister Nora West Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) was in the finale. Bart and Nora are from the future and Nora was in the episode to help in the final battle as well as celebrate the birth of her. Only The Flash could pull that off and make it seem kind of normal. It was stated that there were plans for a season 10 which did not happen. Unlike Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman, The Flash season 9 was planned as a final season. The original plan was for two full final seasons. The CW made the decision to make season 9 the final season with 13 episodes. The Flash had to condense a lot of what was planned into the final season. As a series finale, The Flash is one of the better ones.

1. Arrow Season 8 Episode 10 Fadeout

Arrow inches The Flash out by a little bit. Arrow wrapped up its main story a few episodes prior. To be honest, it really wrapped up in the penultimate episode before the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. The penultimate episode of Arrow was a backdoor pilot for the failed spinoff Green Arrow and the Canaries which would have focused on Mia Smoake (Katharine McNamara) in the future. The series finale saw the return of all of the major characters. After Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) sacrificed himself to save the muliteverse in Crisis on Infite Earths, Earth-Prime was born merging all Earths into one. Oliver resurrected those who were dead including Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donell), Moira Queen (Susana Thompson), Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and even his half-sister Emiko (Sea Shimooka). Also, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) returned after leaving the prior season. Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Kara Danvers, and Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) all appeared in the episode when everyone attended Oliver’s funeral. The series ended on a happy ending when Felicity and Oliver reunited in the afterlife.
