The Tuxedo opened in the fall of 2002 and stars Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Jackie Chan plays Jimmy Tong who gets a job as a chauffer for a secret agent. Once the secret agent is put in the hospital, Jimmy has to take his place and wears a gadget enhanced tuxedo.
I remember seeing the previews for The Tuxedo when it came out. I was not interested in the movie back then. When I saw it in the library, I decided to check it out. The main draw for this movie is Jackie Chan. This was released after Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon. I thought the movie was okay. Jackie Chan was great. The action comedy genre is his bread and butter. The movie was a good length. It ended appropriately. It did not drag on. The action scenes were good. The cast does a good job. Jennifer Love Hewitt is fine as Del Blaine. Jason Isaacs and Debi Mazar do a good job as supporting characters. Jason Isaacs plays Clark Devlin who is the secret agent Jimmy takes over for. Debi Mazar plays Steena who hires Jimmy to be Clark Devlin’s chauffer. It would have been nice to see a little more of Debi Mazar. Given what the plot was, it makes sense why Jason Isaacs does not have a bigger role.
The Tuxedo is another movie where I did not necessarily feel anything. That also happened while watching View from the Top. I did find the cast likeable. For me the movie was silly. That is not a bad thing, but I was indifferent to it. Silly movies can be fun. This one is a bit of a tough one for me. I did not love it and I did not hate it. This is another one where I did not feel anything. It just felt ho hum.
