Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Credit: Marvel
In honor of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which opens on Friday May 5th, here is a look at the journey of Gamora.
MASSIVE SPOILERS
Gamora has been through a lot in the MCU. Gamora was working for Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) when she first met Star-Lord (Chris Pratt). They were both after the Orb. Ronan was seeking the Orb for Thanos (Josh Brolin). Thanos is Gamora and Nebula’s (Karen Gillan) father. Gamora teams up with Star-Lord, Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) after being locked up in the Kyln which they eventually escape right before Ronan arrives. Eventually Gamora and the Guardians are able to defeat Ronan and become heroes of the Galaxy.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gamora and Star-Lord grow closer. A major development happens between Gamora and her sister Nebula. Nebula, who also worked for Ronan and remained Ronan’s ally for the bulk of Guardians of the Galaxy, went off on her own. After trying to kill each other Nebula reveals to Gamora that all Nebula really wanted was a sister. After that they grow closer, they unite to stop Ego (Kurt Russell) a powerful celestial and the birth father of Star-Lord.
In Avengers: Infinity War Gamora reveals Thanos’ plans for the infinity stones once he achieves all six of them. After going to Knowhere to see The Collector (Benicio Del Toro), Thanos kidnaps Gamora, separating her from Star-Lord. By this point Gamora and Star-Lord have officially become a couple. Thanos brings Gamora aboard his ship and wants to know where the Soul Stone is. Gamora refuses to tell him anything until Thanos reveals that he is holding Nebula and has been torturing her. In order to prevent Thanos from hurting Nebula any further, Gamora tells Thanos the Soul Stone is on Vormir. Thanos brings Gamora to Vorimir. In order to achieve the Soul Stone, Thanos sacrifices Gamora.
In Avengers: Endgame Nebula meets up with Gamora from 2014, the events of the first Guardians movie. Gamora is with Thanos from 2014. After spending some time with Nebula, Gamora helps Nebula along with The Avengers in the final battle against Thanos and his army. After the battle, Gamora vanishes.
A big looming question that will get answered in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is where Gamora has been all this time. After the battle in Avengers: Endgame, where did Gamora go afterward? Unlike the rest of the Guardians, Gamora has not been seen since Endgame. She did not appear in Thor: Love and Thunder or the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Zoe Saldana recently stated that this will be her final time as Gamora. I am most interested to see how Gamora’s journey ends especially since this is a different Gamora. The Gamora MCU fans have known died in Avengers: Infinity War. This Gamora fans met in Avengers: Endgame. Will they kill off Gamora again? Given it happened once before, it is kind of unlikely they would want to go through that again. Anything is possible. Gamora could ride off in the sunset and just not been seen again. Hopefully in Vol. 3, the audience will get to know this Gamora a bit and see what her dynamic is with Nebula and Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians.
Kraglin in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Credit: Marvel
In honor of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which opens on Friday May 5th, here is a look at the journey of Kraglin.
MASSIVE SPOILERS
Kraglin is a Ravager, a group of thieves which is led by Yondu (Michael Rooker). Kraglin is Yondu’s right hand man.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Taserface (Chris Sullivan) thinks Yondu is getting soft and takes over the Ravagers where Kraglin does nothing to help Yondu. After Taserface kills a lot of Kraglin’s friends, Kraglin helps Yondu and the Guardians. After Yondu’s death, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) gives Kraglin Yondu’s Yaka Arrow to master. Kraglin becomes a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
In Thor: Love and Thunder Kraglin has mastered the Yaka Arrow and tends to marry a new bride every time the Guardians and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) go to a new planet.
In the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Kraglin celebrates the festivities along with the other Guardians.
Kraglin has slowly become more prominent. He had a small role in Guardians of the Galaxy which expanded in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It has been said that Kraglin will have a larger role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Will there be a future for Kraglin after Vol. 3? If Kraglin is killed off, then probably not. If they ever want to do a prequel movie or Disney Plus series about the Ravagers, I could see Kraglin be a part of that along with Yondu. I am curious to see what the plans for Kraglin are in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Out of all the Guardians, there is a lot of mystery surrounding Kraglin’s background. If this is explored at all in Vol. 3 there could be even more potential for future stories for Kraglin. I also think we will get to see Kraglin master the Yaka Arrow more. We have only gotten a glimpse after Vol. 2.
Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Credit: Marvel
In honor of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which opens on Friday May 5th, here is a look at the journey of Star-Lord.
MASSIVE SPOILERS
Peter Quill aka Star-Lord is the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Peter has been through a lot during his life. He lost his mother (Laura Maddock) to cancer when he was a child. He was abducted by Yondu (Michael Rooker) and his crew, the Ravagers. The Ravagers were thieves and smugglers. They were hired by Ego (Kurt Russell) to abduct and bring Quill to him. Yondu decided to hold on to Quill and raised him as his own. Quill learned that Ego was his father, and that Ego was responsible for the death of his mother by giving her a brain tumor. Ego was also a powerful celestial. Besides losing his mother, Quill also lost both his biological father and the father who raised him Yondu who died while saving Quill in the process of defeating Ego.
Star-Lord started out as a thief and someone who was in it for himself and has grown to be a hero and a Guardian of the Galaxy. He found a family among his fellow teammates, other outcasts including Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana). Eventually Star-Lord and Gamora fall in love and become a couple. Star-Lord helps save the Galaxy by having a dance off with Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace). It is served as a distraction while the Guardians take the Orb from Ronan. Nova Corps along with Nova Prime (Glenn Close) and Rhomann Dey (John C. Reilly) became grateful to the Guardians for saving the galaxy. Nova Corps takes the Orb which is the Power Stone and holds it for safekeeping. In the process of trying to stop Ronan, Star-Lord loses Groot who then becomes reborn as Baby Groot.
Star-Lord deals with father issues in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when he learns that Ego is his father. After learning that Ego is a monster, he and the Guardians fight to stop Ego from destroying the galaxy. Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Yondu become members of the team. After once again saving the galaxy, there is a time jump from the first two movies.
Four years later, the Guardians unite with the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War after running into Thor (Chris Hemsworth). Thor reveals that Thanos (Josh Brolin) is after the Infinity Stones. The Guardians try to stop Thanos by going to see the Collector (Benicio Del Toro). They learn that Thanos has the Power Stone which he got from Nova Corps and the Reality Stone which the Collector was holding onto. In trying to stop Thanos, Thanos kidnaps Gamora who he needs to fulfill his plan to wipe out half the universe. Star-Lord, Drax, and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) meet Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) while trying to find Thanos and Gamora. They unite to fight Thanos on Thanos’ home planet Titan. Nebula catches up with them where Star-Lord learns that Gamora is dead after it is revealed that Thanos has the Soul Stone which he could only get by sacrificing Gamora. While Mantis, Drax, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange have Thanos and are close to removing the Gauntlet from him, Star-Lord is overcome with emotion and lashes out at Thanos. In that moment Thanos, who was in a trance from Mantis’ empathic abilities, breaks out of the trance and hold from the Avengers and Guardians. After a huge battle, Doctor Strange gives Thanos the Time Stone and Thanos leaves for Wakanda to retrieve the final Infinity Stone. Thanos gets all six Infinity Stones and with the snap of his fingers wipes out half of the universe. Star-Lord and the Guardians get blipped out along with Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. Only Iron Man and Nebula are left standing.
In Avengers: Endgame Star-Lord and the Guardians are brought back and have a final showdown with Thanos on Earth along with The Avengers. While fighting Thanos and his army Star-Lord sees Gamora unaware that it is Gamora from the past and his Gamora is still dead. After defeating Thanos, Star-Lord and the Guardians head back to space after attending Iron Man’s funeral. Thor joins the Guardians, and they head off for another adventure.
After having many adventures together Thor parts ways with the Guardians while he heads off on his own adventure in Thor: Love and Thunder. In the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Star-Lord feels down around Christmas time as he continues to mourn Gamora. Drax and Mantis head to Earth and kidnap Kevin Bacon as a present for Star-Lord. Star-Lord also learns that Mantis is his sister. Ego is their father.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the final chapter in James Gunn’s trilogy. Will Star-Lord survive the movie, or will Vol. 3 mark the end? Chris Pratt has said that he wants to keep the role and stay in the MCU. Even if Star-Lord dies since there is a multiverse there is always the chance an alternate version could show up or he could simply get resurrected. Time travel is also a major part of the MCU now after being introduced in Avengers: Endgame. I think out of all of the Guardians, Star-Lord has the best shot of having a future in the MCU. Maybe at some point he could return to Earth and spend some time there. I can see Star-Lord being a part of the Avengers in their fight against Kang. Whatever the future holds, I think this is not the end for Star-Lord and that he will be around for many more years to come.
Phase 5 is kicking into high gear with the upcoming releases of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, due in theaters on May 5th, and Secret Invasion which will be premiering on Disney Plus on June 21st. Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, which kicked off Phase 5 will be hitting home media soon. Production has started on several projects for 2024 with Deadpool 3, Blade, and Thunderbolts gearing up to start filming soon. One area that has not been discussed yet is what the next Special Presentation will be. Marvel debuted the Special Presentation format last fall with Werewolf by Night which was a huge success. A month later the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special premiered. Both Special Presentations so far have clocked in under an hour. They are longer than shorts but shorter than movies. Werewolf by Night clocked in around 50 minutes while The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special clocked in around 43 minutes. Both were around the length of the hour long Marvel shows such as Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. There have been rumors that a Special Presentation is filming now and that the Special Presentation would be Mephisto. Rumors also say that Sacha Baron Cohen is playing the role. Could the next Special Presentation be Mephisto? Could it be someone else? There is the Silver Surfer as a possibility. That has been one fans have suggested. Another possibility is Ghost Rider. If it is Ghost Rider, which one would it be? Johnny Blaze or Robbie Reyes? Marvel could have both if they wanted to do something different. Another popular character fans have wanted to see is Nova. Could we finally get to see Nova make his MCU debut? Could the Special Presentation be on a character we have already met? Maybe Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) could get one. She is supposed to be in Season 2 of Loki. If Loki premiers at the end of August, the Special Presentation could come out after the season 2 finale. It could shed more light on Renslayer and perhaps her possible connection to Kang (Jonathon Majors). There could be a Special Presentation on the events of the Kree and Skrull war. It could help bridge the gap between Secret Invasion and The Marvels which is due in theaters in November. The Kree-Skrull conflict has been going on since the 90s. There is a lot of history that has yet to be explored. I can’t imagine Secret Invasion will delve that deep into that conflict.
There are so many characters and timelines that Marvel can choose to cover. Time will tell what they will do next. There seem to be plans for more Special Presentations. We just have to wait and see when the next one will air and what it will be. The sky is the limit for Marvel, and they truly can do whatever they want.
There are many burning questions and mysteries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Who bought Avengers Tower? It’s a simple question, yet it has not been answered. In Spider-Man Homecoming, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) sold Avengers Tower to an unknown buyer. Homecoming came out in 2017. In Spider-Man: Far From Home it was teased that someone would be moving into Avengers Tower with it under construction. Far From Home came out in 2019. It has been six years since Avengers Tower was sold and it has been four years since the last update about it was given.
Most thought it would be answered in Spider-Man: No Way Home. That was not the case. Hawkeye made a brief mention of it but that was it. It was not answered in any other property in Phase 4. There were a handful of New York based projects which included Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It was not answered in any of those projects. When will we get an answer? Who bought the building?
It was brought up from fans that Avengers Tower seems to have been removed from the background of The Marvels trailer which was recently released. Could that be because it will be answered in The Marvels who purchased the building? Marvel has edited trailers to omit things in the past to preserve surprises and maintain secrecy. Look at Avengers: Endgame’s marketing as one example. It could be answered in The Marvels. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is in the movie. He could be the one to provide the answer.
Who bought the building? Fans have had their theories. One theory was Avengers Tower would become the Baxter Building based on one of the final moments in Spider-Man: Far From Home that seemed to have teased the Fantastic Four. Also at the time, it was announced that Jon Watts, the director of the Spider-Man movies was going to direct Fantastic Four. Jon Watts dropped out and Matt Shankman, who directed Wandavision will be directing Fantastic Four. Fans also speculated the MCU’s Norman Osborn who not been introduced yet. However, in Spider-Man: No Way Home Norman Osborn (William Dafoe) from the Tobey Maguire universe said Oscorp did not exist in this world which may have confirmed that it was not Norman Osborne who purchased Avengers Tower. Another possibility is the Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) who made his MCU debut in the season finale of Hawkeye. The Kingpin will be in Echo and Daredevil: Born Again. It has also been said that there are big plans for the character and rumors suggest he could be in Spider-Man 4. It would make sense if Avengers Tower is now owned by the Kingpin. He could use it as his headquarters, and it would be easy for him to keep an eye on Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) amongst other heroes and potentially other villains too. There have also been rumors and suggestions of a Sinister Six arriving at some point. That would be a perfect space for the Kingpin to use to meet with the Sinister Six.
When will we finally find out who purchased Avengers Tower? It is possible it could be answered in The Marvels. Since Nick Fury is in Secret Invasion, it could get answered in that. I highly doubt it will get answered in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. There is a slim possibility it could be answered in Loki season 2. Secret Invasion and The Marvels are the best options for this year. If it does not get answered in those, then maybe Captain America: New World Order or Thunderbolts or Daredevil: Born Again which all come out in 2024. We will just have to wait and see but hopefully it will get answered before the next Avengers movie.
Eventually Secret Invasion will finally come out. There is currently no release date. It originally was announced for Spring 2023. It is Spring and there is no date in sight. Also, it was announced there would be space between the movies and the shows. Given Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 comes out on May 5th, Secret Invasion would have had to start up now in order to wrap up before the movie. The earliest it could come out would be end of May or June to allow time to focus on Guardians 3. Anyway, Secret Invasion has been teased as a major crossover event. Currently confirmed MCU vets are Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Talos (Ben Mendelson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Rhodey (Don Cheadle), and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman). Given it is being teased as a major crossover event, one would presume that a lot of MCU characters will show up. Here are some who could possibly show up. SPOILERS ABOUND.
Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp)
Credit Marvel
Most fans want Sharon Carter to be in Secret Invasion mostly so it could confirm that she was a really a Skrull during the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. That would mean the real Sharon Carter did not turn to the dark side and was off elsewhere or being held captive by the Skrull impersonating her. Given Secret Invasion is an espionage thriller, it would be fitting to have Sharon in this whether it’s the real her or a Skrull masking as her.
Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julie Louis-Dreyfuss)
Credit Marvel
Val has been referred to as the female Nick Fury. It would be fitting if she appeared even if it was to see her share the screen with Nick Fury. The next confirmed appearance for Val is the Thunderbolts movie. It is possible she could have filmed some stuff for Secret Invasion. She did film scenes for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which was not confirmed until the movie came out. Given Val is shady herself since she seems to have ulterior motives, it would be very fitting for her to be involved from that level also.
Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford)
Credit Getty Images
It was confirmed by Kevin Feige himself, that Secretary Ross is now the President of the United States. It would make sense to get an appearance from the President especially if the Skrulls have infiltrated the White House. Who knows what twists and turns Secret Invasion will take? Realistically, Ross will probably not be in this. It seems that Harrison Ford’s debut as the character would be in Captain America: New World Order. Harrison Ford is taking over the role from William Hurt who passed away. Anything is possible since Jonathon Majors debuted as a variant of Kang in the season 1 finale of Loki and made his debut as Kang in Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania.
Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg)
Credit ABC
Given the Skrulls are heavily involved in Secret Invasion, there is bound to be Skrulls masking as beloved characters. It is possible that Agent Coulson could be a Skrull in this. Agent Coulson started out in the films before headlining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for seven seasons. S.H.I.E.L.D. once was connected to the MCU but its last two seasons, it veered in a different direction. Ever since there has been questions and confusion where it fits in the MCU and if it is still cannon. Since Agent Coulson went on to star on S.H.E.L.D. most of the MCU characters have been unaware that Coulson is alive again. To the audience’s knowledge, The Avengers were never aware that Coulson was brought back to life. Also, to make things a little more complicated is the fact Coulson died again in between seasons 5 and 6. Season 6 had Clark Gregg as a new character who happened to have the same face as Coulson. Season 7 saw Clark Gregg back as Coulson who was an A.I. The beauty of superhero worlds. Anyway, a Skrull Coulson could help explain why he is there without explaining all the events that happened on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for those who did not watch the show.
Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen)
Credit ABC
For Secret Invasion it would make sense to have characters from S.H.I.E.L.D., S.W.O.R.D., and other government agencies. Agent May has been someone that fans have wanted to see in the actual MCU. Agent May was on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and quickly became a fan favorite. She has only been on the show as has everyone who started out on the show. Even if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is not cannon, Agent May could still be in this. It would be nice to see Agent May again and to see her kick some Skrull butt.
Kang or Kang Variant (Jonathon Majors)
Credit Marvel
Whether Jonathon Majors actually pops up remains to be seen once Secret Invasion airs. It would be fitting and another example of how Kang factors into the Multiverse Saga. There was a Skrull Kang in the mid credit scene for Quantumania. It is possible Skrull Kang could pop up even for just a quick cameo. It also would be interesting to see what any of the Kangs are up to while the Skrull invasion is going on. If Nick Fury and Talos are preoccupied with this event, they would not notice that here is another event brewing in the shadows.
Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennett)
Credit ABC
There have been rumors that Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake would be in Secret Invasion. Whether true or not, we won’t know until it airs. Like Agent May, Daisy originated on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She also quickly became a fan favorite. She and Agent May have been the two most talked about characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that fans want to see again in the films and other MCU projects.
Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris)
Credit Marvel
Nick Fury will need all the help he can get, and it would make sense for him to ask Monica Rambeau for help. Wandavision’s mid credit scene in the season finale had a Skrull pop up to tell Monica that Nick Fury wanted to see her. That could have been a tease for The Marvels, but it would also make sense if it was a tease for Secret Invasion. Since Secret Invasion is supposed to connect to The Marvels, it would make sense for Monica to be involved in both projects.
Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch)
Credit Marvel
Maria Rambeau is Monica’s mother. Maria is dead. She died during the blip. Maria could either appear in flashbacks or a Skrull could disguise themselves as her. If a Skrull poses as Maria Rambeau, that could mess with Monica’s head. Even if Monica is not involved, given Maria knew Nick Fury, that could be a ghost from his past that haunts him. Flashbacks could show how Maria launched SWORD which Nick Fury now runs.
Okoye (Dania Gurira)
Credit Marvel
Given Everett Ross is in this, it would be fitting if Okoye appeared briefly. The last we saw of Everett Ross, he was arrested by his ex-wife Valentina Fontaine, and was on his way to prison in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Okoye showed up to rescue him. They either stuck together afterward, or he was dropped off somewhere. It seems he went his own direction based on the trailer. A Skrull could always pose as Okoye especially if Everett Ross ends up being a Skrull and the real Everett Ross is with the real Okoye somewhere else.
Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell)
Credit Marvel
Justin Hammer has not been seen in almost ten years. He appeared in Iron Man 2 and then turned up in the Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King. Secret Invasion is a good opportunity to have Justin Hammer resurface. He could be off making weapons somewhere. Maybe he sells them to the Skrulls or the Skrulls pose as him while he is off elsewhere. He could take advantage of the situation and go off to do his own thing.
Captain America (Anthony Mackie)
Credit Marvel
Since Secret Invasion has been teased as a major crossover event, it would make sense to have some heroes show up at some point. We could get Captain America before his movie comes out in 2024. Sam Wilson officially became Captain America at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This would be the first time since the show that we see the hero. He could always show up in the season finale to help Nick Fury save the day.
Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner)
Credit Marvel
Secret Invasion was filmed before Jeremy Renner had his accident. It is possible that he filmed this. Hawkeye was last seen in his show of the same name. If Secret Invasion has some Avengers, he would be the most fitting. He is also an OG member and I think it is safe to say that Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) will not be showing up even if it were Skrulls masking as them. Hawkeye also has worked for Nick Fury for years. This would be a nice reunion for them.
Hulk (Mark Ruffalo)
Credit Marvel
Hulk was last seen in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law where it was revealed that he has a son. Should Hulk show up in Secret Invasion, they don’t have to answer that plot thread in this. They could wait until a project down the line. Like Hawkeye, Hulk is an OG Avenger and out of the OGs, Hawkeye and Hulk are really the only ones who have the best shot of showing up. I don’t think Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will be in this.
Wong (Benedict Wong)
Credit Marvel
Wong has been appearing in many different projects between the films and the television shows If Secret Invasion is going to be full of MCU alums, Wong would be the best one out of the bunch to make an appearance. He has the most Phase 4 appearances. It would make sense to keep the trend going.
Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)
Credit Marvel
Realistically Doctor Strange will probably not be in Secret Invasion especially since he is not even in this world at the moment. He was last seen heading to the Dark Dimension with Clea (Charlize Theron) in the mid credit scene of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Depending when Secret Invasion is set, it could be set before Multiverse of Madness or during or before that mid-credit scene, there is a slight chance Doctor Strange could pop up. Even if it’s not the real him, the Skrulls could take advantage of that and disguise themselves as him.
Captain Marvel (Brie Larson)
Credit Marvel
Carol Danvers is one of the first heroes to know about the Skrulls given she had dealings with them in Captain Marvel. There is a lot of unanswered questions in regards to the Skrull and Kree conflict that took place in the movie. Captain Marvel was set in the 90s. It has been over twenty years since those events. A lot has happened since. It was suggested that The Marvels will be dealing with that. Since Secret Invasion has been said to heavily link to the Marvels, it would not be out of the realm of possibility of Captain Marvel making an appearance even if its at the end or a credit scene. She did appear in the credit scene of the season finale of Ms. Marvel.
Ronan (Lee Pace)
Credit Marvel
Ronan is dead unless Marvel decides to resurrect him. Ronan the Accuser is Kree and the Kree have had conflict with the Skrulls. Ronan appeared in Captain Marvel briefly. We don’t know what happened after the end of that movie in terms of what he did after. We saw him in Guardians of the Galaxy but that was many years after Captain Marvel. If he was instrumental in pushing the conflict with the Skrulls further, that could have left the Skrulls resentful. The Skrulls could either mask as Ronan or Ronan could always appear in flashbacks. Realistically, I don’t think Ronan will be in this. He has a better chance of being in The Marvels. I don’t know how much Secret Invasion plans on delving into the Skrulls’ background. The show is supposed to be focused on Nick Fury and delving into his background. If there are flashbacks it may be related to him.
Phase 5 has kicked off with Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is hitting theaters in May while The Marvels will be opening in November this year. It was pushed back from its July slot. The Marvels was originally supposed to come out in November 2022, so this would be around the third or fourth time it has been delayed. Besides that, currently Captain America: New World Order is set for May 2024, Thunderbolts is set for July 2024 with Blade and Deadpool 3 scheduled for the fall of 2024. Blade is September while Deadpool 3 is November. There is confusion if Deadpool 3 is the finale of Phase 5 or the kickoff to Phase 6. Other than that, there are tons of other MCU projects for Disney Plus. When are they coming out? No idea. As of this writing, it is mid March. None of the shows for Disney Plus have set concrete release dates. Secret Invasion which was originally aiming for spring is still not here and no date has been confirmed. Spring is officially on March 20th. Given the fact there is no word on when Secret Invasion is coming out not to mention any marketing for it, I think it is safe to say it’s not coming out in spring. What If? Season 2 was supposed to be the beginning of 2023. Its not here and there are rumors that it may not be released until 2024. It also was supposed to come out in 2022 which did not happen either. Loki Season 2 is currently aiming for summer. Since there is no firm date for this either, who knows if that will actually happen? I don’t know if Secret Invasion has to come out first or if Loki Season 2 can come out first.
If Secret Invasion has to be the first show of Phase 5 then it would be the reason Loki would get pushed back. At this point, the earliest Secret Invasion could come out is end of May or June. There needs to be some time to promote it. It also needs some space from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which opens on May 5th. Kevin Feige said that there would be space between projects going forward and they would not be released on top of each other. Secret Invasion is supposed to be six episodes. It would have to come out within the next two weeks for it to be able to wrap up before Guardians comes out. Marvel wants all their projects to shine. This would be the best case scenario. Realistically it is too late for that option to happen. Secret Invasion could come out in mid May but Guardians will be in its third or fourth week by that point. I don’t know how much distance Marvel wants between movies and shows. Secret Invasion could come out end of May which would have given Guardians a few weeks to shine. They may want to wait until June to let Secret Invasion happen. It has been rumored that Secret Invasion connects to The Marvels which would make sense given Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is in both projects. Since the Marvels was delayed to November, I don’t know if it matters when Secret Invasion comes out as long as it is out first. If Marvel wants Secret Invasion closer to The Marvels’ release, it may not come out until August or September. If it were to come out late September it would wrap up a week or two before the release of The Marvels.
Loki Season 2 could come out in June if it does not matter which show is first. If it does matter, and Secret Invasion has to be the first show, then Season 2 of Loki would probably not hit until August or later. Secret Invasion and Loki Season 2 are the only shows that may come out this year. There have been reports saying the other shows originally scheduled for this year were getting delayed which includes Echo, Ironheart, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The only show announced for 2024 initially was Daredevil: Born Again. Some of these delays could help push a few more shows into 2024. Echo was originally aiming for summer 2023 and then it was said there were production delays. If it were to come out this year fall was more likely. Ironheart was originally aiming for fall 2023. It has not been stated where that stands now. Ironheart has finished filming. It could be ready by a Fall release. The last update I heard about Echo was that it was still being worked on. Agatha: Coven of Chaos has just started filming. It will probably not be ready by the end of this year. 2024 is a better timeline. Originally Coven of Chaos was set for Winter 2023/2024. There was always the possibility of it coming out in 2024 to begin with.
It seems the movies are in good shape. The Marvels finished filming. They are just working on the effects and the delay will allow more time for that to get done. Captain America 4 is gearing up to film. Thunderbolts, Blade, and Deadpool are all set to film later this year. It’s the shows that are influx. I’m not sure what is happening with What If? Season 2. If it’s finished, I don’t understand why it has not been released yet. If it’s still being worked on then that would explain why it hasn’t come out yet. Secret Invasion and Loki Season 2 are complete. I am not sure why there are not set dates for these two shows. I also don’t know why Secret Invasion couldn’t come out this month. It would have been a perfect time for it. The only thing I could think of is if it needs to be out a little closer to The Marvels. If that is the case, it could still set a date unless there is a chance The Marvels will wind up getting delayed again. That would make sense to hold off on setting a date until knowing for sure The Marvels will release in November. Even with that a factor, Loki Season 2 could set a date. The first season of Loki came out in June 2021. Season 2 could come out in June. The next Marvel movie isn’t until the fall so Loki would have its whole run to shine without much overlap. If Guardians 3 is a huge hit, it would probably still be in theaters when Loki would start but by that point it would have been out for a month. No update was given on the animated series X-Men 97 in terms of release date. It could still presumably come out in the fall which was its original target date.
Hopefully soon, some announcements will be made about the rest of MCU Lineup for Disney Plus. There are also rumors that another Special Presentation is being filmed. Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special were hugely successful and well received. There is the chance there will be some more Special Presentations and hopefully there will be announcements on those as well.
For the record, Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania is a hit. However, within its three weeks of release it has eroded more than 60% each week after its ginormous opening weekend. If blockbuster movies open huge they usually have a big second week drop but this dropped 69% its second week, followed by a 59% drop its third weekend in release. The final numbers were short of 60% but it still had a huge drop. It has already beaten the first Ant-Man which made 180 million domestically. It has already beaten a handful of Marvel films already. Its current total is 187 million domestically. This is the box office period of March 3-5th. Worldwide it currently sits at 420 million. It is lower than both prior Ant-Man films. Ant-Man was 519 million and Ant-Man & the Wasp was 622 million worldwide. Domestically Ant-Man & the Wasp was 216 million. There is still a chance Quantumania could beat the second film domestically. Worldwide, might be a bit of a stretch but anything is possible.
Where will Quantumania fall in the grand scheme of things? Realistically it will probably be able to hit 200 million, but it will struggle to at least match, if not surpass Ant-Man & the Wasp. March just started but it already has a heavy hitter in Creed III which also is well received by audiences. The competition will only get fierce as the month progresses. Scream VI opens this upcoming weekend. The following weekend sees Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Later in March will be the releases of John Wick: Chapter 4 and Dungeon and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. There is the chance these films could all bomb, but I think they will at least have strong openings given the anticipation level for reach of them. Creed III will probably do very well, even if the other movies fail, Creed III would more than pick up the slack.
I don’t really know why Quantumania is eroding so much. It seems that the bulk of the audience went to see it opening weekend. That is not uncommon for most Marvel movies or big blockbusters. A lot of Marvel movies will get repeat viewers. I am not sure how many people are seeing Quantumania more than once. I know there were people who saw Avatar: The Way of Water more than once which seemed to help its numbers. What does this mean for the other two Marvel movies coming out this year? I think regardless how Quantumania plays out, it won’t affect upcoming releases. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is highly anticipated and is the conclusion of James Gunn’s trilogy. Unless the movie is hated, it should wind up being one of the biggest Marvel movies to date. I think despite the backlash against Brie Larson, The Marvels will be able to do very well especially if the movie ends being better liked than the first movie. It also has the added bonus of including Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel. That may help attract fans of those characters.
There is still hope that Quantumania could stabilize. Even if it continues to erode at high percentages it will at the very least be able to hit 200 million domestically. It is currently only 13 million away. It has already surpassed several Marvel movies, it is not the lowest. That still belongs to The Incredible Hulk which earned 134 million domestically in 2008. Marvel has an interest in doing an Ant-Man 4, so where this one falls won’t really affect the character’s future. I think it is safe to presume that Ant-Man will be involved in Avengers 5 & 6. I also think this is not a reflection of Phase 5 as a whole. I think the upcoming films have the potential to be hugely successful and game changing to the MCU.
The MCU is flying high, just recently kicking off Phase 5. With over thirty movies and a dozen more TV shows the MCU has grown exponentially and has introduced tons of characters. Some have been seen fairly regularly while others it has been a minute. In no particular order here are some of the character I hope we get to see again some point down the line and hopefully before Kang destroys the Multiverse. This contains MASSIVE SPOILERS.
Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen)
Credit Marvel
I think its safe to say that everyone who has seen Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness does not believe that Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff is dead. We did not see a body. There are plenty of opportunities for the character to resurface. She could appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. She could also appear in Deadpool 3 especially if Deadpool 3 ends up being full of X-Men from the FOX side of things. Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is already along for the ride. Even if Wanda doesn’t appear in those, she will probably resurface by Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. There is also the possibility of Wanda getting her own movie.
Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor- Johnson)
Credit Marvel
Quicksilver a.k.a. Pietro Maximoff was last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron where he died. In the MCU characters don’t always stay dead and with a multiverse now wide open there are multiple versions of dead characters from other worlds who could show up. Unlike Wanda, Pietro’s body was seen so he is really dead currently. Many had thought that he would show up in either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame. Neither happened and then people had thought that he would show up in Wandavision which also did not happen. It has been eight years since we last saw Pietro. It is time for Pietro to resurface whether flashbacks or resurrection. Maybe when his sister gets resurrected, if she is even dead, he could be revived as well. He could also show up in Deadpool 3 or he could show up in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. If there is ever a Scarlet Witch movie that would be an opportunity for Quicksilver to show up.
Madisynn (Patty Guggenheim)
Credit Marvel
I never thought Madisynn would become a fan favorite. I thought she was funny when she appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. I just figured that a lot of people would find her irritating. It seems there is an increasing demand to see Madisynn again. She could show up in Deadpool 3. That would make the most sense given the tone of the Deadpool movies. Madisynn could also pop up in Doctor Strange 3 especially since she developed a bond with Wong (Benedict Wong). I highly doubt she would get her own movie but maybe Madisynn will get a special presentation for Disney Plus.
Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell)
Credit Marvel
There are rumors that Justin Hammer may resurface in Armor Wars. He could also be in Thunderbolts. There are plenty of opportunities to see him again. The last movie he was in was Iron Man 2 which was thirteen years ago. Justin Hammer’s last appearance was in the Marvel One Shot: All Hail the King where he was seen in prison. That was twelve years ago. Justin Hammer could literally appear in almost any Marvel project given who he is. He could be the employer who hired Sonny Birch (Walton Goggins) in Ant-Man & the Wasp. He could show up in Shang-Chi 2 especially if the Ten Rings are a part of that. Maybe he could team up with Kang (Jonathon Majors) and help provide weapons. Kang could probably use all the help he can get besides all the other Kangs.
Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac)
Credit Marvel
It has been said that Moon Knight aka Marc Spector and Steven Grant will return at some point. Moon Knight has two personalities and a third one, Jake Lockley that was revealed in the credit scene of the finale. Moon Knight has not been renewed for a season 2, yet. There are no known projects that Moon Knight will appear in. There are some opportunities where he could show up. Moon Knight could appear in Blade. He could get his own movie. The best chance to see him again would be Avengers 5 & 6. The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars are going to be an all hands on deck situation.
Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne)
Credit Marvel
Bill Foster was last seen in Ant-Man & the Wasp back in 2018. It has been five years since we last saw him. Unlike Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) who has been confirmed for Thunderbolts, we have no idea when or if Bill Foster will show up again. Originally it sounded like Laurence Fishburne took the role because it would include multiple projects as well as giving him the chance to suit up as Goliath. He could show up in Ant-Man 4 which is probably a ways off. He could show up in Thunderbolts especially if he and Ghost are still in contact. Avengers 5 & 6 are good options as well.
Howard the Duck (Seth Green)
Credit Marvel
Howard the Duck has cameoed in a few projects mostly the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. He also showed up in a quick scene in Avengers: Endgame during the battle against Thanos (Josh Brolin). His most substantial screentime was an episode of the animated series What If? Howard the Duck has yet to get substantial screen time even for five minutes in a live action project. There is a chance he will show up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. At this point it has not been confirmed when or if we will see Howard again. He could also show up in Deadpool 3 which seems like a fitting movie for him. He could show up in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp)
Credit Marvel
There is a lot more to Sharon’s story especially given where things left off in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It currently has not been announced when Sharon will return. A lot of fans think she will be in Secret Invasion. They are hoping Secret Invasion will reveal that the Sharon we saw on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was really a Skrull and the real Sharon Carter is elsewhere. Even if that is not the case, it is fairly likely that Sharon will be in Captain America: New World Order. She could also pop up in Thunderbolts. Of course, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars are great options as well.
Man-Thing (Carey Jones)
Credit Marvel
Man-Thing aka Ted was a breakout character from Werewolf by Night. Like many fans, I want to see Man-Thing again. He actually has an important role in the comics where he guards the Nexus of All Realties. Given we are in the Multiverse Saga, this could play a key role in this story especially with all the Kangs on the loose. If Marvel follows the source material, Man-Thing could show up in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. Although I highly doubt it, he could pop up as a surprise in Loki season 2 or even a season 3 if there ends up being a season 3. Another possibility could be Blade or Doctor Strange 3. He could even pop up in Deadpool 3. That would be quite a scene to see Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine meet Man-Thing.
Pug (Josh Segarra)
Credit Marvel
Pug was introduced in She Hulk: Attorney at Law. He was another lawyer at the firm that She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) worked at. I am a fan of Josh Segarra and I liked Pug. I would like to see Pug again. It has not been announced if She-Hulk will get a second season. If it does that would be the obvious place for Pug to show up. If not, he could pop up in Daredevil: Born Again given he is a lawyer and there is already established history between Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and She-Hulk. Deadpool 3 is an option given the tone and of course the next two Avengers movies.
The Collector (Benicio Del Toro)
Credit Marvel
We last saw The Collector in Avengers: Infinity War which was five years ago. He also appeared in What If? The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special revealed that the Collector is alive since he sold Knowhere to the Guardians. Since he is alive, where did he go? Avengers is a good place for him to show up especially if he ends up facing Kang or trying to convince Kang not to kill him. He could be a surprise in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He could also appear in The Marvels. Other possibilities could be Eternals 2 and Thor 5. Eternals will probably get a sequel and I think Thor will get one more solo movie. It also would be nice to see The Collector and The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) on screen together.
The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum)
Credit Marvel
The Grandmaster was supposed to be in Thor: Love and Thunder but was cut out of the final film. The Grandmaster was last seen in Thor: Ragnarok which was six years ago. He also did appear in What If? The Grandmaster could appear in the projects that I said for the Collector. It would also be nice to see him on screen with the Collector. I am hoping by mentioning it twice that I could will this into existence. Another option could be to give both of them a Disney Plus show or a special presentation on the Elders of the Universe.
Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner)
Credit Marvel
Hawkeye aka Clint Barton was last seen in his own show Hawkeye. It has not been stated if he will be seen again. I think there is still some more to do with Hawkeye. Of course, Avengers is a great option for him. Marvel could give him his own solo movie. He could also pop up in Captain America 4 or Thunderbolts. Thunderbolts would be an interesting choice since it was Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss) who sent Yelena (Florence Pugh) after him after leading Yelena to believe that Clint killed Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).
Hulk (Mark Ruffalo)
Credit Marvel
Like Hawkeye, it has not been stated where we could see Hulk aka Bruce Banner again. There have been rumors of a World War Hulk movie but none of that has been confirmed. Given the Leader (Tim Blake Nelson) is going to be in Captain America 4, there is the chance Bruce could show up in that. If there is a season 2 of She-Hulk, that would be an obvious place for him. Avengers is a likely choice as well. He could also pop up in Shang-Chi 2, Deadpool 3, or Ant-Man 4. Marvel could always throw him in Spider-Man 4 which would keep in line with having an Avenger in each of those films. There is still more to do with Hulk, especially after the reveal in the She-Hulk finale that Hulk has a son.
She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany)
Credit Marvel
She-Hulk aka Jennifer Walters was last seen in her own show She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. It has not been announced when we will see her again. She could pop up in Daredevil: Born Again since she and Daredevil may or may not be a couple. They were together in the season finale but who knows if that lasted. There have been some rumors of her appearing in Captain America 4. Another good option would be Deadpool 3 especially since the Deadpool movies have a similar tone to the She-Hulk show. Both characters break the fourth wall. Avengers makes sense as well.
Nikki Ramos (Ginger Gonzaga)
Credit Marvel
Nikki Ramos is Jennifer Walter’s best friend and was introduced in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. It seems fitting that Nikki would probably appear in projects that She-Hulk is in. Personally I would like to see Nikki in Deadpool 3 even if its just a cameo. Mostly, I would like to see Nikki meet Wolverine. There was a scene in She-Hulk where Nikki held brushes in a way that resembled Wolverine’s claws.
Werewolf by Night (Gael Garcia Bernal)
Credit Marvel
Werewolf by Night aka Jack Russell was a fan favorite from the Disney Plus special presentation Werewolf by Night. Monsters are now part of the MCU. The best chance to see Jack again would be in Blade. Given their friendship it would make sense if Jack appeared in anything that Man-Thing appears in. Avengers is also a likely option. Also, if Moon Knight gets a second season or a movie, that could be another option since both characters have had dealings with each other in the comics.
Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly)
Credit Marvel
Elsa Bloodstone was introduced in Werewolf by Night and was one of three who survived the special. The other two were Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing. The three of them became fan favorites. Elsa is now in charge of the Bloodstone and a good chance to see her again is in Blade. Given Elsa is a monster hunter, she and Blade (Mahershala Ali) could team up together. Like with every other character Avengers is another viable option for Elsa to appear in.
Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard)
Credit Marvel
Dr. Selvig appeared briefly in Thor: Love and Thunder. The last time he was seen in a substantial role was in Avengers: Age of Ultron which was eight years ago. It was expected that he would be in Infinity War or Endgame which did not happen. He could show up in The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. If there is a Thor 5, that would make sense. Dr. Selvig really can show up anywhere.
Red Skull (Ross Marquand)
Credit Marvel
Red Skull was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Infinity War revealed what happened to Red Skull after he last appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger. Red Skull was the stone keeper for the Soul Stone. Once Thanos got the stone that technically meant that Red Skull was free. A big question has been where is Red Skull now if there is no soul stone to guard? Red Skull could appear in anything. Captain America: New World Order could work. It would be interesting if Red Skull came back and teamed up with The Leader. He could be in Thunderbolts or Fantastic Four. He could work with Doctor Doom if Doctor Doom is in Fantastic Four. There could be a special presentation on Red Skull and his whereabouts. He could team up with Kang to take down the Avengers.
Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)
Credit Marvel
Out of the three OG Avengers, Steve Rogers makes the most sense to return given he is the only one not dead. He was last seen in Avengers: Endgame where he was revealed to be Old Man Steve. After going back in time to return the infinity stones to their rightful place in time, Steve chose to stay in the past and live out a life with Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell). Whereas Black Widow and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) died, Steve Rogers retired as Captain American and gave the shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) who officially became the new Captain America at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Steve could show up in Captain America 4 or Thunderbolts. He could also show up in Secret Invasion but I highly doubt it would happen there. The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars are a good bet. They could always do a special presentation or a limited series about Steve Rogers and what happened when he returned the stones. That has been something fans have suggested.
After seeing Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, here are burning questions I have. Some are questions that still have yet to be answered while others are new questions that have been raised after the events of the movie. From this point on SPOILERS ABOUND. If you have not seen the movie yet, please turn back now.
Who does Sonny Burch work for?
Credit Marvel Studios
This still has not gotten answered yet. I am not surprised but I still want to know who he works for. Is it Norman Osborn? Could it be Kang? Is it Obadiah Stane? Could it be someone from the Ten Rings? Justin Hammer? Who knows when this will get answered. It may be awhile for this one to get an answer.
Is M.O.D.O.K. Fate Sealed?
Credit Marvel Studios
Quantumania revealed that Darren Cross was indeed still alive. Kang found him and turned him into M.O.D.O.K. which stands for Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing. M.O.D.O.K. did Kang’s bidding and set out to kill Cassie Lang after Cassie broadcasted a message to the Freedom Fighters to fight back against Kang. After their showdown Cassie tells M.O.D.O.K. it is never too late to change. Later on M.O.D.O.K. helped the heroes when he used his powers to take down Kang’s shield that was protecting him against a bunch of giant ants. Once the dust settled M.O.D.O.K. died but was able to see Hope one last time and say goodbye to Scott, Hank, and Cassie. Given M.O.D.O.K. is a major character in the comics having ties to AIM as well as dozens of villains, my question is, is he really dead? Is this really it? This was the first MCU appearance of the character. Is it really a one and done? With Marvel, you know never know. I think this is not the last of M.O.D.O.K. and we will see him again at some point. Since there is a multiverse there could always be another variant of him. An eviler variant since this one ended up doing something heroic for a change.
What happened to Janet’s powers?
Credit Marvel Studios
In Ant-Man & the Wasp it was hinted that Janet Van Dyne had become very powerful while down in the Quantum realm. Once she made it out of there, she had taken away Ghost’s pain by simply touching her. This was not further explored in this movie. Janet was a badass in the movie. It never mentioned her abilities at all if she has any or if what she had done with Ghost was just a one time thing. It could have worn off once she got used to being back in the real world.
Who was Agent Jimmy Woo’s informant?
Credit Marvel Studios
This was not answered. Agent Woo had an informant who vanished in the town Westview in Wandavision. Agent Woo was not able to get into Westview because Wanda had put a hex surrounding the town where no one but her could get in and out. By the time of the Wandavision finale, it was never revealed who the informant was or why they were an informant to begin with. Marvel stated this would be answered later on. I was thinking it would be this movie since Agent Woo is in it. After seeing the movie, Agent Woo is only in one scene, and he does not talk in the scene. It’s a scene of Scott Lang and him at a restaurant. It is part of a montage of Scott Lang revealing what he has been up to since Avengers: Endgame. Woo was never seen again throughout the rest of the movie. Knowing that, that would explain why this was not answered. I don’t know when Agent Woo will appear again. This will have to wait for down the line. Perhaps it could be answered in Agatha: Coven of Chaos since the bulk of the Westview residents will be in that show?
What happened to X-Con?
Credit Marvel Studios
X-Con was a security company run by Luis, Kurt, and Dave in Ant-Man & the Wasp. It was already said Dave would not be in Quantumania due to the legal issues T.I. is involved in. Kurt and Luis were also not in the movie either. However, David Dastmalchian who plays Kurt played a different character in this movie. Is Ex-Con still in business? Were they alive during the blip or did they blip out leaving the company in financial ruins? Maybe this will get answered in either a spin-off Disney Plus show or Special Presentation, or it can be held off until Ant-Man 4.
Where are Ghost and Bill Foster?
Credit Marvel Studios
Ghost and Bill Foster were a big part of Ant-Man & The Wasp. They have not been seen since. It was announced that Ghost will be in the Thunderbolts movie. We may get answers to what she has been up to in that movie. There is always the slim possibility she could show up in something beforehand. Bill Foster knew Hank and Janet and was Goliath back in the day. It has not been stated when Bill Foster may show up again. It is possible he could be in Thunderbolts. Maybe he could show up in Captain America: New World Order. Maybe he is in Secret Invasion. Who knows? I think minimally we will at least get answers to where Ghost is and what she has been up to in Thunderbolts.
Are Shang-Chi and Ms. Marvel connected to the rings?
Credit Marvel Studios
After the trailers dropped for Quantumania, fans pointed out the rings featured in the trailer surrounding Kang’s city looked similar to weapons used by the Ten Rings in Shang-Chi as well as Ms. Marvel’s bangle. It was not answered if there is a deeper link between the objects. I think it will get answered at some point. My best guess would be The Marvels or Shang-Chi 2. Ms. Marvel is in The Marvels. Minimally we could at least learn more about her bangle.
Is Kang really dead?
Credit Marvel Studios
By the end of the movie, it appeared that Kang died when Scott and Hope fought him off with Kang getting electrocuted with the energy pulsing through the energy core for the Time Chair. The device got destroyed. Even in the midcredit scenes the other Kang variants had questioned if Kang was dead? When the movie ended Scott was not entirely sure if they defeated Kang. That alone seemed to suggest Kang is not really gone. Also, Avengers 5 is called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. I think it is safe to say Kang will be back. I think that will get answered in Loki season 2 at the earliest.
How do the events in the season 1 finale of Loki fit in?
Credit Marvel Studios
By the time Quantumania ended, it did not reference the events of Loki at all. However, Kang did not get free in the movie. I always thought once Kang was freed it would be at the moment that Sylvie had killed, He Who Remains. This may not get answered until season 2 of Loki.
Is the Post Credits Scene its own scene or is it an existing scene?
Credit Marvel Studios
This is not that big of a deal. It is just something I want to know. The post credit scene shows Loki and Mobius in a crowd. A variant of Kang comes on stage. This scene could be its own thing that was filmed for the movie or this could be a scene that is in season 2 of Loki. Most of the credit scenes in Marvel movies are their own things where the actors had to film a specific scene for the movie. There have been a few times where a credit scene was a scene from another project. The first Ant-Man had a credit scene that was a scene from Captain America: Civil War. Doctor Strange also had a credit scene with Thor that was from Thor: Ragnorak. One way or another this will get answered in season 2 of Loki. The scene itself will either be in an episode of season 2 or not.
