There will be a lot of music coming out in 2026. As has been the case the last few years, most are rumored right now. Rihanna will eventually release her highly anticipated 9^th album. 

Nick Jonas Sunday Best February 6^th, 2026

It has been a few years since Nick Jonas released a solo album. His last one was Spaceman that came and went quietly in 2021. NIck Jonas just dropped the lead single Gut Punch, other than that not much is known about this album other than it will be coming out in February. 

Hilary Duff Luck… or Something February 20^th,2006

It has been over eleven years since Hilary Duff’s last album. The last few years Hilary Duff had been busy with her acting career having starred on How I Met Your Father. Her lead single Mature dropped in November. This album will be the first explicit album in Hilary Duff’s career. Just like the lead single, it sounds this album will be more adult oriented which makes sense given Hilary Duff is in her late thirties. She has not put out that much music since graduating from Disney. I am very interested to see what this album will be like. 

Cardi B

Cardi B did say shortly after her second album dropped that she is going to release her third album sometime this year. Other than that nothing is known about the album including a general timeline. It could come out in the spring or summer or fall or she could surprise drop it tomorrow. We will just have to wait and see. It will be interesting to see what the next album will be like and what potential collaborations could be on it. 

Rihanna

As mentioned in the beginning, Rihanna has been on this list for several years now. Eventually, she will release her 9^th album. From my understanding, it sounds like its done based things had said during interviews when asked about the album. Who knows? After giving birth a few months ago, she could have decided to record new songs for the album. One of these days the album will come out. I do think 2026 is Rihanna’s year. This year will mark the 10 year anniversary of her last album Anti. It seems it would be fitting to drop her new album sometime this year. Who knows? Maybe she’ll just drop it out without any warning. Anti was released with very little warning ahead of time. Whenever the album comes out, I will look forward to diving into it. 

Katy Perry

This is pure speculation. Katy Perry released a song Bandaids back in November. It could function as a stand-alone single or it could mark the beginning of her next album. Her last album 143 came out in 2024. If a new album does get released this year, it will be her 7^th album. This would also be the first album since she and Orlando Bloom broke up. This could be a very cathartic album for Katy Perry. 

Madonna Confessions on a Dance Floor Part 2

Madonna has been teasing for a while now that a new album would be coming out in 2026 and that it is a sequel to her album Confessions on a Dance Floor. That album is considered one of her best albums out of her very huge catalogue. Just like the title, that album was a dance pop album. Given this new album is a sequel, chances are it will be that type of album again and I cannot wait. 

Cher

Cher has said that she will be releasing an album which may or may not be her final album. She has said that several times over the years, so who really knows? Nothing is known about this album. Presumably it would be an original album which would be her first since her album Closer to the Truth which was released back in 2013. Her album Dancing Queen was a cover album of Abba songs which coincided with the release of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again which she had a role in. Cher did put out a Christmas album in 2023 which had a mix of covers and original music. 

Bruno Mars 

Like Rihanna, 2026 will mark 10 years since Bruno Mars’ last solo album 24K Magic. Bruno Mars did release an album in 2020 with Anderson paak as the duo Silk Sonic. Bruno Mars was featured on the smash hits Die With a Smile from Lady Gaga and Apt from Rose. He has teased a little bit over the months about a proper fourth album. I think this year is the time to finally put out a new album and add more hits to his catalogue. 

Olivia Rodrigo

There have been some rumors that Olivia Rodrigo’s 3^rd album will be coming this year. Her second album Guts was released in 2023. The last album leaned a little more into rock. I am curious what direction the next album will go in sonically. 

NF

This is pure speculation as well. This is based off the fact that NF dropped an EP in 2025. I noticed that it seems whenever NF drops a mixtape or ep that a full album materializes shortly after that. If that is the case, it will be cool to see what direction the next album goes in. 

Beyonce Act III

2026 should be the year of Act III the conclusion to Beyonce’s trilogy of albums that started in 20222 with Renaissance and continued with Cowboy Carter which was released in 2024. Beyonce has already covered dance and country. There has been speculation that Act III will be rock. We will just have to wait and see what Beyonce has in store. 

Miley Cyrus

When Miley Cyrus released her recent album Something Beautiful, she did say that her 10^th album was already done and would be released in 2026. At the time she said her album would be 70s pop music. 2026 is a big year for Miley Cyrus as it also will mark 20 years of Hannah Montana which is what launched her career to begin with. 

Christina Aguilera 

There has been heavy speculation from fans that Christina Aguilera would be putting a new album. It has been years since she last released one. She did put a Spanish album out in 2022. It seems time for a new Christina Aguilera album, and it will be interesting to see what direction this one takes. 

Britney Spears 

This is a mix of rumors, possible speculation, and wishful thinking. Like Rihanna and Bruno Mars, Britney Spears last released an album 10 years ago. Britney Spears has currently retired from music but never say never. She might just want a break and eventually come back. She has been featured on some songs since her retirement. She did a track with will.i.am and more notably she was featured on the song Hold Me Closer with Elton John. That song hit the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was played on radio. If an album does materialize this would mark the first album released after Britney Spears was successfully able to get rid of the conservatorship she was under.
