Mad Money was released in 2008 and made about 20 million domestically. Mad Money is about three employees who work for the Federal Reserve and plan to steal money that is going to be destroyed. The movie stars Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, Katie Holmes, Ted Danson, Adam Rothenberg, Roger Cross, Christopher McDonald, and Stephen Root.
I thought Mad Money was alright. It was mildly fun. Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes made the movie mildly fun. Out of the three of them, I thought Queen Latifah stood out the most. I liked her character Nina a lot. She had the most common sense out of the three of them. I did find Diane Keaton’s character Bridget annoying. I thought Diane Keaton did a good job in the role. I thought Katie Holmes was fun as Jackie. Her character was fun and less uptight compared to Katie Holmes’ most famous role as Joey Potter on the TV show Dawson’s Creek. The rest of the cast did a good job as well.
Mad Money is a good length. It is not too long. It ended when it should have. It clocks in a little over a hundred minutes. I was a little invested in the plot. I wasn’t super invested, but I did have an interest in seeing what would happen with their plan to steal the money and if they would get caught. There were some funny moments, but I did not really find much of the movie funny. I did think the three leads had good chemistry which helped.
Mad Money is an alright movie that is mildly entertaining and has some funny moments. Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes really carry the movie that helps elevate it slightly.
