Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the final chapter in James Gunn’s trilogy. The Guardians face The High Evolutionary who is the one who created Rocket. The film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Chukwudi Iwuji, Maria Bakalova, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sylvester Stallone.
I enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. As a final chapter in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, it is a satisfying conclusion for the current iteration of the team. The cast does a fantastic job as they always do. The movie really shows the growth all the characters have gone through since we first met them in the first movie.
Guardians of the Galaxy has always been known as the funnier Marvel movies along with Ant-Man while the other franchises have been a little more serious. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the darkest movie out of the three. It is also pretty dark when compared to other Marvel movies. The tone works well, and it makes sense the movie would be darker given a lot of the plot revolves around Rocket’s past which include flashbacks. The movie still has humor as all Marvel movies do. This is also more emotional as well. There are a lot of scenes that tug at the heartstrings.
The movie has two credit scenes. One is a mid-credit scene while the other is an end-credit scene. It plants some seeds for the future.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a satisfying end to the stories of the main characters. It is funny, emotional, and intense. Like the other two films, this uses music effectively. This may be the end of this current iteration of the team, but I think we will see some of these characters again. I also think some of them will show up when Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars happen.
